Promises

As anyone living in Atlanta knows, due to Georgia's current drought... everything is dying! We have had no rain, our yard is extremely dry and the grass is turning brown very quickly. In fact, if the truth be told, our yard was already looking bad, but after all the kids being here last week for Back Yard Bible Club, by the end of the week the yard was pitiful. Being an outside deal, the grass took a beating! The brown section in the front grew a little more each day as we were playing games, so by the end of the week it was a very large brown section. The back yard was trampled from where we had sat on blankets while listening to the lesson for that day. Let's just say that by Thursday after the club meeting, we were asking God to send the rain - please! We needed to do something fast, or it was going to be too late.


Sure enough, Thursday night we got a strong shower and it rained hard for about 45 minutes. Then Friday afternoon, a storm came in during BYBC, so we had to move inside for the bible lesson and craft that day. God continued to answer our prayers as scattered showers kept coming throughout the weekend. And would you believe that the yard has fully recovered and then some? It looks great. Green and lush. All the brown is almost even gone in the front. It is amazing what a little water can do. Actually, it is amazing what God can do.



For those who live in the Atlanta area, do you remember how strange the sky looked Sunday night? It was the weirdest color, the sky almost looking yellow, with a fireball red showing where the sun was going down. It was both dark and bright out at the same time. I have a hard time even trying to explain it now. It was very eerie and strange, enough that I kept going outside and looking up, amazed at how it was unlike any color I had ever seen. And that is when I saw it...










It was the brightest and most beautiful rainbow that I have ever seen. I quickly called Marshall and the kids, and we all went outside to marvel at God's miracles. I know that these pictures don't do it justice at all, but it at least shows that it was there. I have seen a few rainbows in my lifetime, but the colors in this rainbow were the brightest and most distinct I have ever seen. You could see every color clearly. It was just awesome. So to end a marvelous week, God sealed it with a rainbow and said yet again -- TRUST ME! I promise to take care of you if you follow me--
